Fantastic. This is a simple diner where the stuff on the walls and the friendly waitresses will make you feel welcome. There's a counter with some stools, including one that has painted on it "BITCH'N STOOL." I'm assuming that whomever sits there gets to complain all they want. There are also two rooms on each side of the building with booths. The booths at the back end of each room are rounded with round tables. Maybe that's where the name comes from? I don't know. Either way, the service was friendly, the food was good and decently priced, and it was a positive experience. Note that they're only open for breakfast and dinner.

An old school diner that does two things very well: good food served by a great staff. The corned beef hash and eggs are to die for highlighted by the perfectly poached egg. The place is on the small side, you might have to wait a minute or two. Trust me, it is worth it.

Bad coffee and greesy food. Friendly staff.

in no way is this classic diner food. i've eaten at numerous NJ diners while living there 15 years and there no semblance to this place. this is a dingy, shabby, cluttered dump. the food is not exciting and flavorful like good diner food. The best I can say about it is their home made bread made good toast. American fries are just boiled potatoes cubed that are not properly browned/fried but served just that-boiled. Eggs just common. Definitely did not like the jams served in family style open vessels for any and all to do who knows what. I would not return nor recommend this place.

I'm always looking for good places to eat breakfast, and this one didn't disappoint. The counter was full when we arrived so we found ourselves a table in the back. The servers were friendly and the food was good. We had eggs and pancakes, our normal breakfast fare, and they were well prepared and fast. The pancakes were thick and fluffy, without being too sweet. I recommend trying this out of the way place.

Rounds is a solid diner to grab some breakfast. It happens to be my favorite, but that's probably 70% sentimental, 20% atmosphere and 10% food/service. Service always ranges from fine to great (mostly great). The food is good; nothing mind blowing, but solid diner fare at reasonable prices. I LOVE the decor--it hasn't changed and it's perfect. "Up north" retro diner. Dig it!

My wife and I tried this kind of out of the way place for breakfast. It has a very down home feel, and we felt very welcome. The servers were all very nice and quick. It took a few minutes to get menus, but our food was out in just a few minutes after we ordered. I got blueberry pancakes which were delicious and so big that I couldn't finish them. My wife got a full order of biscuits and gravy. It was more than she could eat as well. The only down side was that there were some tough pieces in the gravy, otherwise it was all very good. This is certainly a good place to stop in for breakfast.

My wife and I had lunch there today and were quite satisfied. I had their Tuesday special, corned beef and cabbage and it was fine. Ample portion, well cooked and presented and tasted good. My wife had a tuna salad bowl and it was fresh and crisp and she liked it. Yes the place is older, a bit dark and only open for breakfast and lunch until 3 pm, but the service was good, our waitress was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was busy but not crowded. The prices were very reasonable. We had a buy one-get one free coupon, so our two meals came to $11. The also accept Visa, I think we got a great deal. I would regard it as a good neighborhood place to eat. We would go back again.

Great homemade corned beef hash gets 5 stars from me every time! Great little diner. Excellent pancakes, and a ton of breakfast choices. Staff was super friendly. We will definitely be back.

Clean...Service was great...Friendly and some of the best breakfast in TC!!!

This place is greasy even for a greasy spoon. The food is okay. The service was a tad slow. Kinda cramped.

Great breakfast.. Service was good, need to ask for a bigger water if your a heavy drinker. The omelette was fantastic! (Couldn't even finish it all.) the biscuits and gravy were avg but the rest of the meal was fantastic! Wife got the he-man breakfast and loved it. We are from out of town, but will definitely be back next time we are in TC.

We were on another vacation in TC and looking to try a me breakfast restaurant from our standard, The Omelette Shoppe and found Rounds. Not a bad breakfast restaurant and the locals appear to like it, but we didn't have a the best experience. Besides the front counter seating, they only have two small side seating areas. We were in the bigger of the two. Even at that, there was a a group of 13 people that were so noisy that my wife and I couldn't even hear each other speak to each other across the table. Additionally I love corned beef hash and they said they made it homemade there at the restaurant. I was really looking forward to it so I ordered the omelette with corned beef hash inside. The corned beef hash was loaded with potatoes but had few and tiny shreds of corn beef. Very disappointing! Overall I might try them again sometime but at this point there are several better choices.

Great local breakfast place! Normal food items for kids with easy atmosphere. Definitely need bigger water glasses if you thirsty and French Toast a bit buttery... Veggie Omelette awesome! Would come back

This place is a tiny breakfast/lunch joint that is off the main road to TC. I love it here it is a good old fashioned diner. They have great coffee that is constantly refilled and a breakfast bar with cute 1970's stools. I have the red velvet corned beef hash it was amazing! It was red potatoes with onions and spices then their corned beef was tossed in. I added a little hot sauce. It was great the corned beef is amazing. My husband go an omelet with cream cheese in it that looked amazing just not my thing. He said it was tasty and very filling. I cannot wait to go back and try some more good old diner food.

One can't go wrong with Round's. The staff is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is simple, traditional, and authentic. The prices are reasonable. And the fare is delicious. I strongly recommend the hash. Round's is a local institution, mostly overlooked by the tourist crowd. The clientele spans all walks of life, from landscapers to judges, doctors to retirees. The counter usually has half a dozen random folks eating and chatting while the rest of the restaurant orbits at an increasingly frantic pace as the day proceeds. Try to arrive early, and remember they close before dinner time.

Great breakfast food, great service! I had the home fries, scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes. All were fresh and tasty. Clean restaurant. I'll definitely be back.

Don't judge the book by its cover on this one. Excellent food. The best breakfast I've had in years.
(5)Micah S.
We had coffee and breakfast here, and it cost close to 20 bucks. Oh, and we shared something. Besides that, the quality of the food was severely lacking. The biscuits were doughy, and almost tough. The gravy was floury - too much so. If it sat for long enough (a few minutes) it became stiff and gluey, and the texture was just off. The flavor did not carry the strange texture. We tried this dish with ham, hash brown casserole and eggs over medium. The eggs were the best part. While I am grateful the ham was real, it was tough as nails. The casserole on the other hand was not crispy - mushy, like it had been sitting for too long. Flavor was good - wish it had not been doughy. Or wish it had been done. Bleh. I have had better at waffle house, which doesn't exist here, for much cheaper. Extremely disappointed.

Great place a few blocks from the riverfront. Seems to get local clientele and great word of mouth guests. Food was very good. Portions are generous. Breakfast is a comfort meal sometimes and this is high on the scale of hometown comfort. Stan's Big breakfast was terrific. Lets just say I don't need lunch today.

Locals eat here, food is good, but they must have been having a bad day when we were there. Breakfast for two on a Saturday morning took 50 minutes to arrive. It wasn't super crowded, but a large group went in just before us, so a bit of a wait is to be expected--but not 50 minutes for a simple breakfast.
(2)Joe H.
First time trying. Was a busy Saturday morning and it was crowded. They looked to be short staffed but our waitress Stacy was awesome! Very friendly and attentive even though it looked as if she had the whole place to wait on her self. Food was good. She is a text book definition of someone who understands customer service. Will come back for sure just because of her. Well done!
(4)Kip N.
BEST ham and cheese omelette I've ever had! Pancakes are great too. Highly recommend this place. Place was swamped but the staff was great to be around. We sat at the half circle bar which added to the experience.

Love a local diner!! Homemade corned need hash out of this world!! Will definitely come back my next Trip up!!
(5)S M.
Great local place to have breakfast. The food tends to take a long time, even when there are few people there. The eggs were fine, the corned beef hash is good and the home made toast is amazing. However the next day we tried for lunch and it was very strange. I ordered a steak sandwich and received a palm sized piece of "meat" on a piece cold, white bread. I asked to have the French dip, instead. Though there was only one other couple in the restaurant, it still took long after my boyfriend, ate his sandwich and finished two cups of coffee, before I got mine. It might have something to do with how everyone, cooks and waitresses included, constantly sneaking out the back....TO SMOKE. I will be back...but will never deviate from the breakfast menu again.

Great old diner. We had the Stan Jr omelette with pancakes. Highly recommended! Great friendly service.

oh how i wanted to like your half moon shaped restaurant. the kitsch and 50's retro is flowing here. the waitresses are so fast and nice. and the bread that they make in house is so good. however, the dish i ordered wasn't as good as it could have been. i kept thinking of how much better i could have made it. it was basically cheesy hasbrowns under a savory egg mixture. except the hashbrowns weren't the cheesy and the eggs were tasteless. my husband ordered the hash, which i thought would be flowing with corn beef at a place like this. it wasn't. too bad rounds. i wanted to like you better. love, juston

Had the country fried steak, it was so amazing I almost wanted to get one to go. Service was excellent, personable and attentive.

We're new to Traverse City and were excited to try Rounds this a.m. We are lovers of corned beef hash and the picture of it looked so good! After a long wait, we noted people who came in 20 minhutes after us were served while we continued to wait. When we asked our waitress, she said she'd check but had no explanation. We waited 55 minutes before our food came. We needed magnifying glasses to find the corned beef. We got a plate full of potatoes and onions and a few specks of corned beef. It was nothing like the picture. We may give it another try eventually, but if it's anything like today, that will be our last visit.

We have driven by this place many times and my husband always wanted to try it. We stopped in for breakfast and the best thing I can say about it is the prices were very reasonable and apparently, the men's room was very clean. I am a huge coffee lover and I need my morning coffee. This coffee was not good. I sipped on about half the cup and couldn't drink any more. My husband ordered an omelet and sausage with home-style potatoes. He ate most of it, but only because he was hungry. I ordered French toast and was very disappointed. The waitress was friendly and service was good. Unfortunately, the food was lousy and I could not eat there again. Looks like a popular place though, so there must be something we missed. Will not go back.

Good service and decent food. My BF is a corned beef hash afficianado and his preference would be for a bit more crispy, not his favorite. I had the breakfast special w silver dollar pancakes and they were good

We go Traverse City often and are always looking for something new the locals recommend. This breakfast was one of the best I have had! I forget name of the dish but it was corn beef hash sliced with potato! Yummy! Wait staff was very friendly. Seating was very limited and kind of crowded but worth it. Atmosphere was mom and pops feel. Exactly what we wanted!! You will see us again!
(4)Angie H.
Very cute diner and friendly waitress! The coffee was good but unfortunately we had to wait almost 45 minutes for our food. Once the food arrived, we were disappointed in the portion size. This was the first diner I had been to in the Traverse City area and I won't be going back.
(1)Kara G.
I sat at the counter at Rounds this weekend. I had a very nice chat with a few locals who were able to make all kinds of recommendations for my stay in Traverse City. I had an omelet and pancakes both of which were excellent!

If you're visiting Traverse City, one thing you will learn is that dining options downtown are not cheap and not really convenient. Because of this we decided to look for something less touristy, and we hit the jackpot with this little diner. The secret is find out where the older people are eating, because they are locals and they know where the value for money is. So OK, it was a quaint little diner which kind of felt like granny's house with its decor. It falls short of getting five stars, for one simple reason and that is the fact that they were short staffed and we were waiting 20 minutes after being seated to actually order our food. We were not in a rush thankfully, so we didn't get angry and once our order was in the food came very quickly. Our meal was good quality and cooked just as we requested. The ham was tasty all the breakfast elements were of great quality and I must recommend the cinnamon rolls. Once we got past the slight blip of having to wait to have our order taken, everything else went great. The food is good value for money and the staff are polite, if a little over worked. It's the perfect little breakfast spot off the beaten path and well worth a visit.

Very friendly staff, and good food for a reasonable price! The eggs could stand to improve (unsure what they actually use, just seems like beaters, not actual eggs), but it's really a minor gripe for such a neat little hole-in-the-wall.
